MEET YOUR DOULA

Meet Amanda Nafey PCD (DONA)

Hi, I’m Amanda. I’m a wife, mother of four, Ina Garten superfan, reading junkie, shock-proof confidant, and newborn and postpartum expert. I’m a DONA-certified Postpartum Doula with over ten years of experience supporting families. I know that becoming a mother, whether it’s for the first time or fourth, can be overwhelming and confusing. We are faced with conflicting parenting information online and opinionated friends and family. We try to sift through guidance when we are sleep-deprived and physically recovering from giving birth. My job is to make this joyful, scary, and (let’s be real) crazy time easier for you. After my visits, you’ll feel heard, seen, encouraged, rested, showered, and have had a good laugh! I believe all mothers both deserve and need this kind of judgment-free emotional and physical support during a time when the focus often shifts exclusively to the baby. No question is off limits, and no topic is considered “TMI,” I am here for it all and to help you be a mother YOUR way.

"Amanda was an actual sanity saver. My husband and I couldn't be more thankful to have had her help our family. Amanda came to help me after my husband went back to work and I felt so overwhelmed with our first. She helped identify feeding issues our little was having and got us connected with an amazing feeding therapist. She helped us figure out how to get our little to sleep without laying on top of my husband or I and even helped us transfer our little into her crib. More than anything though she listened and made me feel like everything was in fact manageable and that I could do it. When I had some questions even after Amanda wasn't working with us any longer she was so responsive...

"As a twin mom, finding someone who truly understands the unique challenges of caring for two newborns at once was essential—and Amanda was exactly that person. Her own experience as a twin mom made her guidance incredibly relevant and reassuring. From the very beginning, Amanda was a pillar of support during my fourth trimester. When I struggled with latching, Amanda quickly helped me connect with a skilled lactation consultant. Later, when we transitioned to bottle feeding, she was instrumental in resolving feeding issues and ensuring both babies were thriving. Her recommendations on safe baby-care essentials, swaddling techniques, and setting up all the new gadgets were spot-on and saved us so much time and stress. Beyond her expertise, Amanda was a compassionate sounding board. She was professional yet so easy to...

"When I had my twins - full term but recovering from a c-section and traumatic birth experience w pre-eclampsia, Amanda was crucial to getting us all on a sleep and feeding schedule that met all of the our needs. I needed sleep so I could rest and heal but my husband and I needed help with our boys to get them in sync with sleep and feedings also. Amanda came and did several night feedings so we could all reset. The schedule she helped us implement carried us from newborn to toddlerhood and beyond. To this day I have wonderful 10 year old sleepers 😃"

"Amanda has helped with two of my newborns. Amanda comes in with confidence, but not the make you feel uncomfortable kind of confidence. She knows what needs to get done. Overwhelmed and don’t know how to ask for help or even what to ask? She just does it. She steps in with such care and does it with ease. From cooking to feeding to cleaning to giving helpful advice…. the list goes on for what she provided for me while caring for my daughter and then my son. I would have Amanda back in a heartbeat."

"Hiring Amanda as our postpartum doula was one of the best decisions we made as a family. After my C-section, her support was absolutely vital to my recovery. I was able to truly rest, knowing that everything was under control- from caring for our baby to keeping our home calm and organized. Amanda has a warm, grounding presence, and she brings such competence and care into everything she does. On top of it all, she’s an amazing cook! Every meal she prepared was both nourishing and delicious, and having that kind of thoughtful support in those early weeks meant the world to us. I truly couldn’t have done it without her. If I were ever to have another child, I couldn’t imagine going through the postpartum period without Amanda by...
